In collaboration with IE9, Atari has released 8 classic games that have been ported into HTML5, these games can be played without any advertisement on  your Internet Explorer (9) browser, or with adverts on any other browser that support HTML5.

I don’t know about you,  but I grew up with this stuff, games such as Astroid, Pong and Missile Command peaked my curiosity when I was a kid experiencing this thing called “PC” for the first time. In fact my first programming project, which was coded in Basic, was based on the infamous Space Invaders game. That was when I was 11 years old.

Its really awesome to see such an awesome result of a collaboration project between Atari and IE9, the games that have been ported are:

• Missile Command
• Pong
• Super Breakout
• Yars’ Revenge
• Astroids
• Centipede
• Combat
• Lunar Lander

The project is also partly to encourage developers to write their own games that can be ported onto the Atari Arcade website. This is accelerated by a new JavaScript library being offered by Atari which is called CreateJS, the library supports functions which are aimed at enriching the HTML5 interactive experience. If you are ever considering creating an HTML5 based interactive solution then this is the place to start.
