SQL Optimization Challenge

Can not stress this enough, but I really f-ing love optimizing SQL Server.

I dont know why, but optimization or ensuring that you are squeezing the last bit of efficiency from any of your systems is something of a fascinating discipline for me, I regularly think about ways to improve the efficiency of even general life activities such as work or walking to work (sadly, that pretty much sums up most of my life activities), but with data operations things get well exciting. Most of my job these days involve optimising SQL statement, deployments, or redesigning entire SQL architecture to be more efficient (and resilient). This is why I wake up in the morning.

This here is a SQL optimisation challenge, I have yet to be stumped by a SQL query or an architecture that I couldn’t optimise further, or squeeze extra performance out of, so please, humble me!

You can use the form below to send me your SQL, or alternatively you can create a user account and write an article on the blog, or just find my email and fire over your SQL. I promise I will try to reply as fast as possible, and all optimised SQL will feature on the site.
