Well its Preview release week at Microsoft, and the new and shiny Visual Studio 2013 is now available for download under multiple editions and with additional VS13 tools.

So whats new you ask, well not a lot in terms of look & feel, but they have certainly packed-in a few new features that would appeal to Mobile Apps Developers, such as the ability to show how much battery a particular application might consume when released on a mobile device, in addition to other resources such as memory and CPU.

In addition to considering mobile development, the new VS13 does support a certain level of integration with Windows Azure Mobile Services as well as improved performance monitoring and debugging techniques.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to try the new Visual Studio out just yet, I have a backlog of technologies to look at over the next few weeks, topping that list is the new SQL Server 2014 CTP.
